Atmos Energy to Perform Routine Maintenance on Natural Gas Pipeline between Post Oak Bend and Ola, Texas
Kaufman County, Texas (June 20, 2016) – Atmos Energy crews and contractors will oversee a controlled release of natural gas on June 22, 2016. The controlled release will occur between the hours of 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. in the areas of Post Oak Bend and Ola, Texas. The Company will be working on a section of natural gas pipeline in the area as part of normal, routine maintenance operations.
The controlled release of natural gas from the pipeline allows employees to work on the pipe safely. People in the area may smell the odor of natural gas and hear moderate noise during this process. Atmos Energy employees will be on site to monitor the process as natural gas is vented into the atmosphere.
There will be a temporary interruption of natural gas service to approximately 12 Atmos Energy customers while work is being performed. Residents in the general areas, along with Kaufman County Officials, the fire department and 911 operators are being advised of the controlled release prior to work beginning on June 22.
