TPD Press Release: Felony Family Violence Results in Arrest and Other Charges

On Monday July 18, 2016 at approximately 3:58 a.m., Officers were dispatched to 1200 block S. Frances Street in reference to a disturbance. A female subject, who was not at location, called the Police and advised that her brother, Montreal Hudson, was at her mother’s house and that Montreal, had struck their mother. Moments later, Officers were advised that Montreal had left the location in a white Ford Crown Victoria. Another officer observed the vehicle driving north on S. Frances Street. He conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as Montreal Hudson, the known suspect in the offense. Hudson was taken into custody for outstanding warrants and DWI as the on scene officers continued the assault investigation.

A disturbance had begun in the residence earlier over “beer money” and Montreal reportedly became very angry and grabbed a hold of his own mother. This enhanced the criminal charge. Once Montreal released his mother she gave him some money and he left the location shortly after.

Injuries supporting the offense were observed by officers at the scene and evidence was collected as well. In addition, Hudson was charged with the Felony Family Violence- Impede Breath/Circulation. An emergency protective order was sought and obtained in defense and on behalf of the victim. She is 59 years of age.
