For the third year, North Texas shelters, along with NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 are planning a huge adoption event. This year’s nationwide Clear the Shelters adoption event will be held July 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exciting event brings cities, counties and nonprofit organizations together to offer a unified campaign.
Last year, North Texans helped Clear the Shelters, finding more than 2,900 pets new homes. Terrell had 23 animals adoptable and all of them got new homes that day!
More than 60 shelters participating this year and great hope we will find forever homes for many more animals. You can always see available dogs on Terrell Animal Adoption Center’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/terrellpet.
Animal Control Officer Jason Renfroe said that they are hoping to get all available animals adopted this year as well. There will be 20-25 pets available on Saturday. The adoption fee is waived and the animals are already sterilized and rabies vaccinated. The regular adoption fee is $80 with heart-worm test and $70 without. All animals living within the city limit also has to be registered. $15 for intact animals, $10 for sterilized animals and $5 for senior citizens.
The shelter is always in need for donations. Blankets, Dawn, Purina Dog Chow, treats etc.
The shelter is located on 2601 E. USHWY 80, next to the water treatment plant going on 80 towards Wills Point.
