PrideRock Wildlife Refuge in Terrell, TX, is looking for a few hard-working, dependable and motivated individuals to volunteer on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a half day or full day to help with animal care, maintenance and other chores . Volunteers participate in many activities including cleaning enclosures and water troughs, providing enrichment activities to the cats and other animals, and completing some light landscaping, and ongoing maintenance and repair of equipment, structures and tools. Volunteering is, at times, dirty and hard work. It is also rewarding, a great learning experience and provides an opportunity to meet other like-minded individuals.
Volunteers must be 18 years of age, commit to at least two days a month and be able to work in extreme weather conditions. Volunteers must complete an application, waiver form and statement of fact form as well as agree to the guidelines set forth by the Operations Manager.
PrideRock Wildlife Refuge is currently caring for more than 20 lions, tigers and cougars, three black bears, three wolf hybrids and one African spotted hyena.
