The ever-charming Historic Downtown Terrell is undergoing the first phase of a branding campaign that will make it a destination for both residents and visitors.
New “Shop. Eat. Enjoy. Repeat.” pole banners lining Moore Avenue reflect the variety of retail shops, restaurants, professional and personal services found behind the vibrant array of vintage storefronts. Custom sign toppers that highlight the city’s wall murals will adorn light posts throughout this new Downtown District that includes Rockwall to the West, HWY 34 to the East, High Street to the North and Grove Street to the South.
“The City of Terrell in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce/CVB are excited to embark on this creative initiative because it shows our commitment to retaining the charm of yesteryear while enhancing commercial activity in the central business district today.”
– Mayor D.J. Ory, City of Terrell
Two Wayfinding kiosks on South Alley and three Wayfinding kiosks on Moore Avenue make it easier to find the one-of-a-kind boutiques and cafes that downtown features. The kiosk map has over 100 businesses, including Apparel, Arts/Gifts/Furniture, Automotive, Museum/Entertainment Venues, Restaurants, Personal, Professional and Specialty Services. A Downtown Historic Terrell brochure will be available at all business locations to make it easy to Shop Local!
Plus, parking is plentiful! South Alley has been reclaimed with new parking signs, landscaping, and access to 110 parking spots. All time limits have been removed from all other parking spaces within the district.
And, there’s more to come: A $2.5 million façade renovation of the American National Bank, Co-working space, new landscaped planter boxes along Moore, a Pocket Park and Farmers Market on Adelaide are part of the vision to make Downtown the place to be and be seen.
