The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is excited to announce Terrell Futbol Club as a new league member starting with the 2019 Season.
Based in Terrell (Tex.), Terrell Futbol Club will begin UPSL play in the Central Conference North Division.
United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, “The UPSL continues to make headway in Texas, and we’re pleased to welcome Terrell FC to the Central Conference. Terrell FC has been among the most competitive teams in the various Dallas-Ft. Worth area premier leagues, and they’re a formidable addition to the North Division. We wish Owner Miguel Escobedo and Terrell FC success as they prepare for kick off in 2019.”
Miguel Escobedo is Owner of YTX Paint & Body in Terrell (Tex.), specializing in painting high-performance vehicles. Family Owned & Operated, YTX Paint & Body is a primary sponsor of Terrell FC.
Escobedo, 30, started Terrell FC in 2014 and has featured in both the North Texas Premier Soccer Association and the Ft. Worth (Tex.) Premier League, widely considered among the best amateur leagues in Texas.
Terrell Futbol Club Owner and Head Coach Miguel Escobedo said, “We’re excited to join the UPSL. We’re taking the next step, and that’s the UPSL. The league does a great job of giving teams information and being accessible, and we’ve played a few friendlies against Inocentes FC (UPSL) that made us think that the UPSL could be right us. The games against Inocentes were better than our league games, and it’s clear that the UPSL is much more competitive overall.”
Terrell FC will host its home games at a site to be announced in compliance with UPSL’s Minimum Standards.
The team soon will announce tryout dates and its upcoming games schedule.
